
Tenancy and Advocacy Specialist

As a Tenancy Advocate, you will:Provide information, guidance, and advocacy to tenants under the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008.Support tenants with dispute resolution processes, including the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) and Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT).Connect individuals at risk of homelessness with appropriate government, community, and emergency housing services.Maintain accurate client records and contribute to program reporting and review.Collaborate with a supportive team and external stakeholders, building capacity for self-advocacy and positive tenancy outcomes.What We're Looking For
You will bring:Experience in tenancy advocacy, housing, homelessness services, or related areas.Strong communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.The ability to work calmly and respectfully with people experiencing complex challenges.Knowledge of tenancy law (Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008) and experience with QCAT processes (highly regarded).Commitment to professional boundaries, ethics, and continuous development.Qualifications & RequirementsRelevant tertiary qualifications (Diploma, Certificate or Degree) or equivalent experience.Current (or capacity to obtain) Police Check, Working With Children Card, and relevant clearances.Proficiency with data management systems and Microsoft applications.Why Join Us?
