A global fintech powerhouse is on the lookout for a proven infrastructure leader to head up a high-performing team in Sydney. This is a hands-on leadership role - perfect for someone who thrives on solving complex infrastructure problems and is passionate about building secure, scalable, and automated systems that keep a world-class trading operation running smoothly.To be successful in the role, a high degree of Windows systems engineering knowledge is needed, coupled with strong IaC skills to drive automation adoption - ideally with Terraform & PowerShell.As its a lead role, you will also need to have previously led and mentored teams of Systems engineers.They have some of the best offices in Sydney with Lunch & Breakfast provided daily by their own in-house catering team but do require you to be in office 4 days per week.The role
- Take ownership of critical infrastructure across the APAC region
- Set the direction for infrastructure best practices and automation
- Work closely with global teams
- Balance deep technical work with leadership, strategy and stakeholder engagement
- Drive improvements across systems like VMware, Windows Server, NetApp, and more
- Enable fast, reliable, and secure trading environments at scale
- Experience leading or mentoring technical teams
- Strong background in infrastructure - particularly Windows Server management & Virtualisation
- Hands-on with C#, PowerShell or Python, Terraform (or keen to learn)
- Experience with enterprise systems like Active Directory, NetApp, Windows Server
- Understanding of modern observability tools (SCOM, Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB, etc.)
- Clear communicator and team player - someone who can lead with influence
