We are currently recruiting for a Senior Strategic Planner to join our client, A NSW Government agency based in Parramatta. This is an initial contract until 30/06/2026 with a pay rate of $75.54 - $83.24ph + super for 40 hours per week. WFH is available for 50% of the time with Tuesday and Thursday’s in the Parramatta Office.About the RoleReporting to a Team Leader and working within a team of planners, you will provide expert planning advice and contribute to strategic planning initiatives, rezoning, and precinct planning. The role involves occasional travel (approximately quarterly) and offers a dynamic environment focused on residential development.Key Accountabilities

Provide accurate and timely technical planning advice to stakeholders, providers, contractors, and consultants.
Conduct planning and study reviews, assess third-party submissions, and manage external consultants and contractors.
Document planning and legislative issues, project status, and perform risk management analyses.
Advise on planning risks, environmental impacts, and compliance to ensure alignment with objectives.
Build and maintain effective working relationships to support project delivery in line with government planning policies.
Contribute to precinct planning by integrating land use, transport, and infrastructure strategies.
Use GIS for spatial planning, site analysis, and data interpretation.
Prepare and assess planning proposals in accordance with strategic frameworks and legislative requirements.

Key Requirements

5–10 years’ experience in strategic planning, ideally in residential development.
Experience in precinct planning, rezoning, and planning proposals (local council or consultancy background preferred).
GIS experience is highly desirable.
Background in architecture or urban design would be advantageous.
Assessment experience is beneficial.
Ability to start ASAP preferred, but 4-week notice periods will be considered.
