This nationally significant social infrastructure project was undertaken to nurture, trial and share new ideas and form new partnerships that will drive better outcomes for people who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind or have low vision.Job DescriptionThe RoleNextSense has an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our team at our new centre for innovation, Macquarie Central. This is a permanent full-time role, 38 hours per week, over 5 days. We also have part-time opportunities available. Reporting directly to the Network Manager of Macquarie, new graduates and experienced therapists alike are encouraged to apply. You'll make a difference in this role by:

Providing high quality, client-centred services that assist individuals with vision and hearing loss to achieve their goals and aspirations
Implementing best practice services for clients in clinical and educational settings
Providing evidence-based assessment, intervention supports and other strategies to assist clients in achieving outcomes
Delivering services in person, via telepractice, in a NextSense centre, client home, school or other appropriate setting
Using a person/family centred framework when providing services
Developing, delivering and evaluating Individual Support Plans and NDIS progress reports with the client, their family and relevant others

Desired Skills and ExperienceTo be successful in this role you'll need to demonstrate you meet the following selection criteria.Essential:

Bachelor in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
Professional membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
Demonstrates sound clinical skills and knowledge
Works collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
Contributes to client outcomes in a team setting
Valid driver's licence
Working With Children Check
NDIS Worker Check

Desirable:

Prior experience working with clients with a sensory disability
Working knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) framework
Willing to learn new systems, processes and frameworks
