  • Lead the development of the State Library's iconic published collections.

Role DetailsLead the development, regular revision and implementation of the Published Collecting Plan, along with relevant procedures and guidelines that sit within the Collections Policy framework, including consideration of the total cost of ownership of the collection lifecycle. Provide leadership, management and professional guidance to the team including managing performance outcomes for staff and actively foster a culture of quality customer service, performance excellence, professionalism and continuous improvement and learning. In accordance with the Libraries Act 1982 and the Collections Policy ensure that South Australian publications are collected to meet legal deposit obligations, and general reference and special collections are developed and maintained in line with organisational directions. Lead the appraisal of collection offers, acting as a point of escalation for complex matters and maintaining positive donor relationships.Special Conditions
  • The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.
  • The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
  • Some work outside of normal hours may be required.
  • Some intra/interstate travel involving overnight absences may be required.
  • This role requires a working with children check.
  • This role requires a National Criminal History check.
  • Required to work on service delivery points.
Essential Qualifications
  • Eligible for Professional Membership of the Australian Library and Information Association or a degree in Information Management or Archives Administration, or a degree majoring in history, politics, anthropology, law or commerce, or another degree and Eligible for professional membership of the Australian Society of Archivists.
