- Analyses and implements logistics plans that may impact the production, distribution, and inventory of finished products to enhance product flow.
- Participates in the development and implementation of logistics plans affecting the production, distribution, and inventory of finished products.
- Conducts distribution and network studies, monitors inventory, and analyses requirements to develop strategies for achieving desired delivery times and order fulfilment rates.
- Maintains appropriate records and prepares reports.
- Coordinates logistics activities with internal and external customers.
- Oversees the completion of projects, including planning, assigning tasks, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, and evaluating outcomes.
- Provides activity and status reports to management.
- Supervises junior employees.
- Other duties as directed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field and eight years of relevant experience. Four years of specialised military experience in a related field may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree. In lieu of formal education, at least sixteen years of progressive experience in a related field is acceptable.
- Sound understanding of the ILS Support System Constituent Capabilities (SSCCs)
- Sound understanding of the role of ILS in a Defence Acquisition Project environment
- Development of ILS documentation (such as ILS Plans, ILS Concepts, Integrated Logistics Support Instructions, etc)
- Exposure to and understanding of the Australian Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON) template suite
- Conduct of Supportability Analysis (such as Level of Repair Analysis, Spares Analysis, Maintenance Evaluation)
- Understanding of risk management principles
- Basic Life Cycle Cost modelling and analysis
