- Site Setup & Logistics:
- Establish the project site, including setting up temporary facilities, utilities (power, water, etc.), and access control.
- Manage site logistics, including material storage, waste disposal, and traffic management.
- Ensure the site is clean, organized, and safe.
- Construction/Installation Management:
- Oversee the physical construction or installation activities, ensuring they are performed according to plans, specifications, and industry best practices.
- Manage the work of contractors and subcontractors, coordinating their activities and ensuring their performance meets requirements.
- Monitor progress against the schedule and budget, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Subcontractor Management:
- Support in selection, management, and coordinate the work of subcontractors.
- Ensure subcontractors adhere to project requirements, including safety and quality standards.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and address any issues.
- Progress Tracking & Reporting:
- Track and report on site progress, including work completed, materials used, and resources consumed.
- Identify and address any issues that may impact the project schedule or budget.
- Prepare and submit regular site progress reports.
- Material & Equipment Management:
- Manage the procurement, delivery, storage, and use of materials and equipment on site.
- Ensure materials and equipment are properly inspected and maintained.
- Permitting & Compliance:
- Ensure all necessary permits and regulatory requirements are met.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- HSE Governance (Operational Leadership & Implementation):
- Develop and implement the project's HSE plan, under the guidance and approval of the SPM.
- Lead and manage all day-to-day HSE activities on the project site.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the project's HSE plan, company policies, and all applicable regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
- Investigate all HSE incidents and near misses, and implement corrective actions.
- Provide HSE training and education to all project personnel, including subcontractors.
- Ensure the availability of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce its use.
- Manage and maintain all HSE records, including incident reports, inspection reports, and training records.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all site-related HSE matters.
- Work closely with the SPM and Technical Program Manager to integrate HSE into all aspects of the project.
- Ensure a culture of safety is fostered throughout the project.
- Manage and coordinate emergency response plans.
- Construction Management: Solid understanding of construction principles, practices, and methods.
- Site Management: Proven experience in managing construction sites, including logistics, resource allocation, and progress monitoring.
- HSE Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices. Experience in developing, implementing, and managing HSE programs. Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, CSP, CHST) are highly desirable.
- Subcontractor Management: Ability to effectively manage and coordinate the work of subcontractors.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to quickly assess and resolve issues.
- Communication & Leadership: Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Negotiation & Conflict Resolution: Ability to negotiate effectively with contractors and stakeholders. Skill in resolving conflicts.
- Technical Understanding: Basic understanding of the project's technical aspects.
- Knowledge of relevant HSE software and tools.
