The company is a well-established food manufacturer located in the Western suburbs of Melbourne. Due to growth, this company is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the team on an ongoing 6-month casual basis with the potential to extend or go permanent.
This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate to gain some industry experience and assist with both product development and laboratory-based duties.About the role:
Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, your main responsibilities may include:
- Completing testing of oil products
- Basic QC laboratory testing of products (titrations, pH, Viscosity, chemical handling)
- Weighing out raw materials for production
- Data entry and result compilation
- Laboratory housekeeping
- Rotating roster- Must be happy to do afternoon and night shifts
- Bachelor of Science and must major in Chemistry or Food science
- Comfortable working independently and with high temperature frying vessels
- Excellent communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Methodical, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
