The Finance Manager position is a newly created role within an innovative Brisbane based scientific organisation. This is an extremely rewarding role where you'll have the opportunity to enhance and build systems to align with company growth and innovations.Who will you be working with?Our Client is a scientific organisation that is developing a world-first platform technology that allows for reliable and scalable supply of products to significantly improve survival and quality of life for patients. You will report to the Head of Finance and work closely with all teams including R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities and Clinical Trials. This is a team of high performing experts who thrive on their collaborative approaches and focus towards a common goal.The role will be based in the western suburbs of Brisbane with some flexible work arrangements available.What are the benefits?

What will you be doing?As the Finance Manager in this small team of 3, you will take lead as the finance business partner to all internal stakeholders. It is a versatile role requiring a hands-on approach that will ensure financial reporting requirements are fulfilled to achieve key scientific and investment milestones. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a leading role where you'll be empowered to improve and grow the capabilities of the finance team.
Key tasks of this role include:

Lead all bookkeeping and payroll functions
Action monthly and quarterly reporting requirements
Participate in financial audits
Review documentation and processes to provide improvements relevant to company needs
Enhance the existing asset management program

What do you need?Our ideal candidate is someone who loves all things finance and isn't afraid to be hands-on in all tasks as the company grows. As a small team, it is paramount that you are a team player with a friendly, proactive approach that can work well with a diverse culture. There are opportunities to learn more about R&D tax incentives and the incredible science in development, as well as working with stakeholders throughout Australia and the USA. Ideally, you'll have an appreciation of what it takes to enhance and nurture a start-up as it progresses to commercialisation.
Other key requirements of this role include:

CA / CPA qualification
A minimum of 3 years' experience in a leading finance or accounting position
An interest in science, healthcare or innovation
Previous experience with Xero would be ideal
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with, and guide internal and external stakeholders
