About the DepartmentThe Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission is the national regulator of aged care services in Australia. It works to protect and enhance the safety, health, wellbeing and quality of life of people receiving aged care. The Commission is responsible for accrediting, assessing and monitoring aged care providers, handling complaints, and promoting continuous improvement across the sector to ensure older Australians receive safe, respectful and high-quality care.About the RoleThe Product Owner will be responsible for the product vision and accountable for its delivery. They must prioritise the backlog to optimise delivery, balancing business needs and technical constraints working closely with the business subject matter experts to understand and refine requirements. They must ensure that the development team has a clear understanding of the business priorities and act as a liaison between stakeholders and the delivery team making key decisions regarding product features and scope, ensuring delivery of value.Key Duties
Prioritise and own the requirements for one or more functions of the ACRES product.
Contribute to the product vision and roadmap.
Refine then prioritise the backlog of features needed for delivery by the scrum team.
Ensure 'User Stories' meet the 'Definition of Ready' Priorities
Negotiate work with delivery team
Agree to 'Definition of Done' to ensure features are delivered.
Work full time with delivery teams and attend daily scrum team meetings, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
Empowered to make fast decisions regarding their product to ensure delivery teams are not blocked.
Work closely with business Subject Matter Experts, Business Analysts and Delivery team members to ensure requirements and user stories are ready to 'build'.
