You must be able to work collaboratively with the entire Hotel Services team in the provision of consumer-centered, quality-focused services, this position is responsible for assisting with the preparation and delivery of high-quality food and beverages that meet the dietary needs and preferences of consumers and visitors. The Café Assistant ensures a welcoming and safe environment for consumers, high quality barista skills, light cooking, adhering to food safety regulations and promoting a positive dining experience.Key ResponsibilitiesPreparation of menu items including light cooking, serving meals, coffee making and maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene within the café. The role also involves engaging with consumers, providing excellent customer service, and helping with special events or catering requests when required including evenings. The Café Assistant, while supporting the café supervisor in a second in charge capacity to ensure smooth operation of services. You must contribute to the overall well-being and satisfaction of residents, ensuring that every dining experience is enjoyable and meets the required service standards. About YouThe ideal candidate for the Café Assistant role is a friendly and reliable individual with experience in a café or hospitality environment. They ideally hold a Certificate III or IV in Hospitality, along with current Food Safety and RSA certifications. They are confident using commercial kitchen equipment, preparing and serving food and beverages, and operating a POS system. Excellent customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and in a team are essential. The candidate is safety-conscious, well-organised, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. A genuine interest in supporting older adults and contributing to a positive dining experience is key. Flexibility to work evenings and across multiple sites is also required.Candidates may be subject to a pre-employment medical assessment with the successful candidate requiring current NDIS worker clearance and RSA.
