Make a Real Impact – Mental Health Worker / Peer Support WorkerFull-time | Adelaide Hills regions | 12-month Maternity Leave CoverUnitingSA is offering a meaningful opportunity to step into a full-time role that truly matters. This is a 12-month maternity leave cover, running from 6 October 2025 to 2 October 2026, supporting people in Adelaide Hill and Strathalbyn areas. You’ll be part of a passionate, values-driven team helping individuals facing mental health challenges to build confidence, reconnect with community, and access the support they need.We’re looking for someone who brings empathy, resilience, and a genuine passion for inclusion. Someone who sees the person behind the diagnosis and believes in their potential to thrive.What You’ll Be DoingThis role is all about walking alongside people as they navigate their recovery journey. You’ll support individuals to:
  • Provide one on one outreach support to build life skills and independence
  • Access housing, NDIS, and other vital services
  • Set and achieve personal goals
  • Reconnect with community and support networks
  • Navigate challenges with compassion and clarity
Whether it’s helping someone attend their first community activity or guiding them through a tough moment, you’ll be making a real difference every single day.What You’ll BringWe’re looking for someone who’s not only qualified but deeply committed to making a difference. You’ll need:
  • A relevant qualification: Minimum of Cert IV in Mental Health, Peer Work, Disability or Community Services
  • Ability to operate within the recovery and trauma informed framework
  • Strong boundaries, empathy, ability to work autonomously
  • Proficient in case management, problem solving, time and crisis management skills
  • DHS Working with Children Check & NDIS Worker Screening
  • Possess your own vehicle to use for work purposes and also hold a current SA driver’s licence – mileage will be reimbursed
