We are seeking a hands-on and safety-focused Engineering Supervisor to lead and support our maintenance workforce at our Port Botany Terminal. This pivotal role is responsible for managing shift-based maintenance operations, including the daily allocation of tradespersons and contractors, ensuring timely execution of planned work, and maintaining high safety and engineering standards.As part of our Engineering team, you'll work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with stakeholders across operations and maintenance to ensure critical equipment uptime and the delivery of high-quality repairs and services. This is an opportunity to lead on the frontline and drive operational excellence at one of Australia's most strategic logistics hubs.Key Accountabilities
  • Supervise and allocate daily work to tradespersons and contractors in line with shift plans and priorities.
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety discussions, and ensure compliance with safety procedures and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor maintenance progress and complete detailed shift handover and reporting documentation.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly, ensuring safe and quality repairs.
  • Ensure accurate completion of maintenance records and daily engineering supervisor reports.
  • Support and enforce contractor management processes, permit systems and Authority to Work procedures.
  • Drive improvements in shift productivity, labour utilisation, and safe work practices.
About YouYou are an experienced maintenance leader with strong coordination skills and a passion for safety. You take ownership of your shift and know how to get the best from your team by setting clear expectations and ensuring everyone returns home safe.Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • A minimum 5 years' experience supervising maintenance teams in a heavy industrial or logistics environment.
  • Trade certificate required (e.g. Fitter, Electrician, or similar discipline).
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to respond calmly under pressure.
  • Solid understanding of safe systems of work, risk management, and incident reporting.
  • Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with tools like Microster, E Shift Log, Win CC Scada desirable.
  • Confident communicator and team motivator with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to uphold engineering standards and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.
