Reporting to the Executive Chef, as our Junior Sous Chef at Lona Misa you will be a professional member of the kitchen team, assist the Head Chef in the development and maintenance of cuisine concepts and standards for food preparation and presentation. You will manage the kitchen team to ensure a work environment which promotes the Values of Ovolo and is an integral part of a profitable hotel. This is a Full-Time role and will require flexibility within availability. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen are of the highest quality, meeting and exceeding our guests' expectations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, train, and inspire kitchen staff to maintain the highest levels of food preparation, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Menu Consistency: Collaborate closely with our culinary team to maintain menu consistency and make necessary adjustments as per seasonal availability and customer feedback.
  • Cost Control: Monitor food costs and work towards achieving budgeted food cost percentages while maintaining quality.
  • Sustainability: Promote sustainable practices in the kitchen, aligning with our Plant'd philosophy and sourcing ingredients responsibly.
  • Salary: $77,000 base + super
