In this role you will work in a dynamic team environment to deliver polished products on matters ranging across environmental issues, regulatory reform and associated topics.About YouWe are looking for two Senior Advisors, would ideally suit individuals with between 5 to 15 years' experience in one or more of the following areas: environmental impact assessment, strategic policy development, and regulatory policy/reform, preferably with tertiary qualifications in a related field (e.g., environment, policy, law).As a small-medium enterprise, we are also looking for the person who is the right fit for our team. We aim to work on projects that make real and enduring change across a wide portfolio.As we work as trusted advisors to government, it is desirable that you are in a position to hold an Australian Government Security Clearance.RemunerationCompetitive remuneration will be based on skills and experience of the successful applicant.Key responsibilitiesAs a member of a growing and dynamic team, it is anticipated the position of Senior Advisor will be responsible for providing input into a broad range of activities being undertaken by Aestra in collaboration with the Director and other Aestra staff.The following responsibilities are intended to provide a broad overview of the Senior Advisor role:
  • Leading the development of strategic policy advice to clients, including government and industry sectors.
  • Utilising critical thinking, judgement and problem-solving skills to develop and deliver polished, accurate products for clients, including but not limited to, preparation of policy papers, regulatory options papers, and government briefings.
  • Driving the preparation and coordination of environmental impact assessment under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth).
  • Undertake and support business development activities and completion of administrative tasks as required including preparation of responses to requests for quotation.
  • Project management activities as required by the role.
  • Contribution to Aestra business strategy and operational planning.
  • Business development activities, including facilitation of new client relationships, nurturing of existing client relationships, bidding and negotiation of client contracts.
  • Team leadership activities, such as training and mentoring staff, managing staff performance, and contributing to high performance teaming,.
Working arrangementsAt Aestra, we primarily work remotely, so it is essential that you have a dedicated office space where you can comfortably work from home.
