- Guide and support the Program leadership teams to develop and implement a safety culture that aligns to the company vision, including adequate development and training in safety critical roles.
- Ensure the projects maintains robust risk management processes, capability, focus, and discipline related to safety.
- Investigate all causes of events on site and recommend actions to prevent future occurrences. All incidents are reported and investigated; the type and level of investigation will depend on the seriousness of the incident.
- Maintain comprehensive safety records, manage statutory reporting requirements, and monitor safety performance progress.
- Manage and support project safety advisors and coordinators (direct reports) to ensure values, behaviours and day to day performance is monitored.
- Maintain an update-to-date knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory and company safety requirements, ensuring workplace are informed of relevant changes.
- Manage the Safety budget for the package, including working with commercial team on monthly forecasting and budget reporting.
- Tertiary Qualification in Health Safety or Equivalent.
- Safety Lead Auditor Qualification (highly desirable) but NOT essential
- Minimum 8 years as a safety professional with a minimum of 4 in a safety leadership role managing a team of safety professionals.
- Minimum 5 years in a Construction and/or heavy industry and high-risk workplaces, Rail, Engineering, or other associated functional areas.
- Knowledge of Safety legislation and statutes (especially those relating to WorkSafe), and ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to Project.
- Current Driver Licence and your own reliable vehicle.
