As a Communications Specialist at a prestigious university, you'll be at the forefront of developing and executing integrated communication strategies. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders, craft compelling narratives across various channels, and play a crucial role in enhancing the profile of the University of Melbourne and the work of the faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (MDHS). Your work will directly impact how the faculty is perceived both internally and externally, making this a key position for those passionate about strategic communications in higher education.Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop Communication Plans: Create and execute integrated strategies to address priorities effectively.
- Provide Expert Advice: Support senior leaders with communications activities and plans.
- Manage Media Relations: Draft timely responses for reactive media enquiries.
- Create Engaging Content: Produce materials for various channels including news outlets, websites, and social media platforms.
- Foster Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain effective connections with internal and external partners.
- Have a postgraduate qualification or extensive experience in communications or a related field.
- Demonstrate a proven track record in designing and delivering successful communication plans.
- Show ability to work independently and lead projects with limited supervision.
- Possess experience in coordinating strategic activities within large, complex organizations.
