Integrated and Community HealthFixed Term (Up to 30/06/25) 0.6FTE Staff SpecialistHealth Education Centre Against ViolenceApplications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position in the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD). This position will be located in the Department of Health Education Centre Against Violence at Integrated and Community Health.Successful applicants will be responsible for development, coordination, and delivery of training support for NSW Health Child Protection Clinicians and NSW Health Clinical Staff working with children in other Health settings. This role works in partnership with the Executive Project Officer and lead hospitals and to align Child Protection Training across NSW.ECAV is a partner in an NSW Health funded Safety and Support for Children Experiencing Violence, Abuse and Neglect Program. This program aims to build capacity of NSW Health services to respond to children experiencing violence abuse and neglect.Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Staff Specialists (State) Award.Selection Criteria· Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Paediatrics and Child Health Division or overseas equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award and current experience performing clinical duties in the specialist area of medical and forensic care of violence abuse and neglect.· Demonstrated experience and expertise in development, implementation, and evaluation of competency-based training and assessment at post-graduate level in the specialist area of medical and forensic care of violence abuse and neglect, including clinical supervision and mentoring of nursing and medical staff. Understanding of curriculum development, competency based and course accreditation processes.· Demonstrated knowledge of violence, abuse and neglect (VAN), contributing factors, dynamics, effects, prevention, secondary and tertiary interventions and NSW Health and other agency service systems, relevant policies and legislation.· Model and promote behaviours which are consistent with NSW Health core values and promote cultural safety and humility, accessibility and inclusion, with a focus on understanding the ongoing impacts of colonisation upon Aboriginal staff and communities and considerations for education, project management and service delivery.· Highly developed analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving, decision making and organisational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and demonstrated ability to learn new systems and/or platforms (eg. Office 365, HPE).· Demonstrated skill and experience in effective project and program management, including ability to develop solutions to complex problems, design and implement effective projects which achieve intended outcomes, within budget and time frame.· Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written) skills, facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution skills, including ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders, and the ability to prepare high level reports/ documents/briefs/contracts and the ability to communicate complex specialist medical forensic terms and information to a lay (non-medical) audience in the review of Expert Certificates and other communication with Courts.· Willingness to travel within NSW and has a current driver’s license valid in NSW.Working With Children CheckApplicants must provide evidence of a Working with Children Check issued by the Office of Communities Commission for Children and Young People.
