One that is equitable and prioritises learning and wellbeing.Together we will make our education system the best it can be.When our children and young people thrive, so do our communities and our state.About the role:We are a social work team based within Student Support Services; a broader, multi-disciplinary team, consisting of social workers, other allied health professionals, and experienced educators.The Social Work Truancy service works closely with representatives from schools, preschools, parents, children, young people, and other professionals, to implement time-limited, evidence-based interventions to support engagement, learning and wellbeing outcomes that make a difference in the lives of children and young people.The role requires high levels of professionalism, autonomy, and integrity. You will have a strong commitment to social justice, human rights, cultural safety, and to the rights of all people to be treated with dignity and respect.You are committed to advocating and empowering children, young people, and their families. Qualifications:Essential: An appropriate degree or equivalent which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).Desirable: Nil.Special conditions:The successful applicant must:
  • Have a Department for Human Services (DHS) Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed and which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
  • Undertake the RRHAN-EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse, and Neglect – Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which is required to be updated every three years.   • Have a provisional or full current driver’s licence.
  • Have a significant amount of experience as a qualified Social Worker for the AHP2 Social Worker – Truancy role.
