Known for their innovative approach and strong people culture, they are committed to ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of all team members.Job DescriptionThis newly created senior leadership role will be responsible for shaping and delivering the Work Health and Safety (WHS) and wellbeing strategy across the group. As custodian of the Safety Management System, you will partner with senior leaders to embed a proactive safety culture, ensure full legislative compliance, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across all operational environments.Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop and execute the WHS strategy in alignment with organisational priorities and regulatory obligations
  • Embed safety into business decision-making by working closely with senior leaders and governance bodies
  • Implement and oversee a mental health and psychosocial risk management framework
  • Manage the WHS Management System, ensuring it is fit-for-purpose and consistently improved
  • Oversee policy development, safe work practices, incident investigations, and corrective action processes
  • Lead contractor compliance programs and support operational teams during audits and inspections
  • Conduct site visits and systems audits to identify risks, improve processes, and ensure best practice standards
  • Oversee injury management and return-to-work programs, including managing outsourced partners
  • Manage insurance coverage and claims, reducing risk exposure and associated costs
  • Analyse WHS data, trends, and cost drivers to inform strategic decision-making and optimise outcomes
Candidate ProfileYou are an experienced WHS leader with proven success in shaping safety strategy and driving cultural change within complex, multi-site organisations. Your background encompasses in-depth technical expertise in WHS legislation, injury management, and risk mitigation, complemented by strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.Essential qualities include:
  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS, Occupational Health, or Risk Management
  • Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and regulatory frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience in high-risk environments such as hospitality or construction
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and change leadership skills
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on capability to deliver operational outcomes
