- Lead and manage the investment operations team that supports North Platform's investment proposition (including its market-leading managed portfolio proposition)
- Foster a high-performance culture within the operations team, driving engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee teams / managers responsible for the daily investment operations responsibilities for the North Platform that includes trade processing, settlements, transfers, reconciliations, cash management, unit pricing, distributions, fund additions and terminations, tax, reporting, investment governance, investment mandate compliance and corporate actions
- Manage day-to-day external relationships with custodians, brokers, fund managers, and other third-party service providers (and liaise with product about strategic relationship issues)
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders including product, managed portfolio, technology, tax, legal, risk and compliance teams.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives to support growth and enhancements to North's offer.
- Drive continuous improvement in operational processes, systems, and controls.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies related to investment operations
- Support onboarding and operational due diligence for new investment options and offboarding of terminated investment options
- Extensive experience, 10+ years, leading an investment operations or similar function within a wealth management, superannuation, or platforms environment and driving a collaborative, high performance culture
- Proven experience in driving a collaborative, high performance culture and delivering results through others via effective leadership and coaching
- Experience in the successful management and implementation of regulatory changes
- Demonstrated ability to implement operational and/or organisational change
- Competent understanding of managed funds, SMAs, ETFs, listed securities and other platform offerings
- Ability to contribute to the development of business plans and present in senior leadership environments
- Strong experience of managing multiple initiatives and projects successfully
- Competent understanding of the regulatory and compliance regime for financial services
- Experience in identifying, assessing and addressing operational risk
- Understanding of competitors propositions and industry trends, as they relate to the wealth management, in particular platforms environment
- Ability to coach, motivate, influence and engage team members to build capability in a fast paced, high-volume environment
- Excellent relationship development and stakeholder management skills that can traverse senior leaders and peers across business unit and the wider AMP business
- Strong ability to coach, motivate, influence and lead teams in a fast-paced environment and/or through period of change.
- The ability to develop and implement initiatives and business processes to drive cultural change and inspire their team to deliver consistent and accurate results for the business.
- Ability to articulate strategic intent and transformational execution to a broad range of direct reports, peers and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and identify and escalating at risk and/or on watch items
- Ability to use strong analytical skills and significant judgement in managing moderate to complex business problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication than can support designing and presenting execution plans to leaders and senior stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and situational awareness with an ability to appropriately adapt their personal styles through this to maximise and influence situations
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications or preparedness to undergo studies in business, finance or investments desirable
