The Role:Assist adults to recover from their experience of family violence through the provision of information, assessment, phase 1 counselling, referrals and other appropriate forms of therapeutic intervention. * Provide information and support, referral and advice to clients and other service providers.Identify, develop, provide services required to meet the needs of adults, children and young people affected by family violence.Liaise with other relevant program areas to ensure coordination of services, including other Safe at Home service providers.Key Skills:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of family violence and its impact on adults, children and young people.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with adults, children and young people with complex needs and apply appropriate models of intervention, including the developmental needs of children and young people.Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgement and initiative, work with general supervision and seek guidance as appropriate.Demonstrated time management skills and ability to prioritise and monitor a busy workload while providing a high standard of client care.Ability to communicate verbally and in written form, and liaise effectively with clients, carers and other staff and stakeholders.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and be adaptable and flexible in a complex environment.Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, research and ongoing professional development.Understand the principles of primary health care and the needs and best interests of adults, children and young people affected by family violence.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.The Team:Work as an effective member of a professional team in the provision of services to adults and children affected by family violence as part of the multidisciplinary Family Violence Service established through the Government's Safe at Home initiative. You will provide specialist services to adults, children and young people affected by family violence in accordance with best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework. Provide programs that incorporate multi-level assessments and interventions and support the needs of children and young people affected by family violence.Why Tasmania:The Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services. Eligibility:Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
  • Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or in the case of self-regulated allied health professions with either full membership or eligible for membership with the relevant professional association
  • Current Working with Children Registration
