This is achieved by addressing a range of issues specific to the needs of this target population. This includes the provision of drug using equipment, brief interventions. In addition, education and skills development, the provision of welfare and referral as requested by the client, information access, advocacy, and other interventions which may enhance the physical and psychological wellbeing of individuals who may use this service.Work within the WSLHD Needle and Syringe Program Team to provide a range of health care services for the prevention and care of blood borne viruses among injecting drug users. This position will participate in service delivery across the WSLHD NSP sites.How to Apply
Apply online by submitting your resume, and addressing the criteria listed below by providing examples that demonstrate your ability before the closing date.Essential RequirementsQualification: Relevant tertiary qualifications, Community services or equivalentSelection CriteriaRelevant tertiary qualifications in Health or related field.An understanding of Harm Minimisation.Knowledge of blood borne viruses such as HIV, HCV and HBV.Non-judgemental and empathic approach to people who inject drugs.An understanding of Health Promotion and Community development.An ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.Experience working with marginalised groups within a Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) or other relevant service.Current NSW Driver's Licence and willingness to travel to different WSLHD sites or external facilities as required.Requisition ID: REQ599920
