About the roleWe are seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join our growing team, specialising in the construction of high-quality granny flats. This role is ideal for someone with strong carpentry and site management skills who can lead by example, coordinate trades, and ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest standard. With a focus on customer satisfaction and clear communication, the company manages the entire process-from council approvals to handover-ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience.Key Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day site operations and ensure projects run smoothly.
Supervise and coordinate trades, apprentices, and subcontractors.
Read and interpret building plans and specifications.
Ensure all work is carried out to a high standard and in line with company expectations.
Maintain site safety and compliance with WHS regulations.
Monitor project timelines, materials, and quality control.
Liaise with clients, site managers, and the office team as required.
Provide hands-on support with carpentry and construction tasks.
Mentor and support apprentices in their training and development when required

What We Are Looking For:

Qualified carpenter with strong hands-on building experience (must have Steel Frame experience)
Previous experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory role (2+ yrs)
Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications
Strong leadership skills to manage and mentor apprentices and trades
Excellent communication and organisational abilities
Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and meeting deadlines
Sound knowledge of WHS practices and site safety requirements
Reliable, motivated, and proactive attitude
