- Development and preparation of the annual business plan, operating budget, monthly reports and sales forecasts
- Lead the Commercial team and foster a positive work environment.
- Provide mentoring, coaching and regular performance feedback to improve team performance, reward and recognise achievements, develop succession plans and identify high potentials
- Understand long range forecast of the business and what tactical measures and pricing strategies are required to meet budgeted revenue targets.
- Target new business conversion for assigned segments to meet and exceed revenue and profit targets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and partners to produce groups and/or convention business, to include room sales, food & beverage sales, and catering/banquet services
- Actively pursue opportunities and lead tactical campaigns to secure new business, create an ongoing pipeline, and successfully shift business from the competition through active engagement with the customer via voice conversations.
- Work with Cluster Marketing to drive marketing efforts to up sell guests on hotel services, offerings, and amenities.
- Monitor progress towards sales goals and adjust actions, as necessary.
- Monitor competitor practices and strategies in order to understand competitor trends and ensure each product and services are ahead of the competition.
- Attend leadership team meetings and revenue/yield meetings.
- Support and drive sales initiatives for each property with client entertainment, familiarisations, and other events that form part of the sales and marketing plan.
- Produce monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyse current/potential market and sales trends
- Drive through period, seasonal and tactical revenue by creating, implementing & managing a pipeline of targeted campaigns for designated segments
- Must have unrestricted, full working rights in Australia (please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position).
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience leading a high-performing sales team within the hotel sector.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently exceed ambitious sales targets, contributing to sustained business growth.
- Proficient in industry-standard systems, including but not limited to Delphi, I-Know reporting, and MeetingBroker.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the confidence to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
- Proven leadership in motivating and managing successful sales teams, fostering a culture of performance and accountability.
- University qualifications in business or a related discipline.
- Highly organised with strong time management skills, capable of performing under pressure and managing competing priorities.
- Thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.
