Job DescriptionAbout the RoleThe Data & Insights Manager leads a team of analysts, engineers, and BI specialists in transforming data into actionable insights that improve member experience, support accreditation and compliance, and strengthen strategic and operational decision-making across the College. This role is responsible for building and uplifting the College's business intelligence, analytics, and data analytics capabilities, helping to foster a data-informed culture that enables strategy execution, performance measurement, and continuous improvement.As a key member of the IT Leadership Team, the Data & Insights Manager will contribute to the development and execution of the College digital and data strategy, ensuring alignment with the wider transformation agenda and future operating model and uplifting capabilities where needed.Key Accountabilities
  • Define and lead the vision for data and analytics to foster a customer-focused, and performance-driven data-informed culture.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing team of analysts, engineers, and BI specialists.
  • Provide strategic leadership and advise executives on data-driven decision-making, performance measurement and digital transformation.
  • Oversee the data ecosystem, including data architecture, models, ETL processes, dashboards, and BI tools.
  • Establish data governance and stewardship frameworks to ensure quality, security, compliance and accessibility.
  • Lead cross-functional projects that leverage analytics to drive strategic insights and business optimisation.
  • Promote innovation through emerging technologies and experimentation with advanced analytics solutions where they deliver measurable value.
Desired Skills and ExperienceEssential Attributes
  • Formal qualifications in computer science, information systems, business administration or a related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar position and/or environment.
  • Deep understanding of current and emerging data analytics technologies and how other organisations are employing them.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of data engineering workflows, ensuring scalable, secure and high-performance data environments in collaboration with IT infrastructure teams
  • Data Governance implementation and uplift
  • Change management or experience with uplifting data literacy across a business
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and communicate the IT vision that inspires and motivates staff and aligns with both IT and business strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to instil confidence in the College and validate the business value of IT.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and leading DevOps and ITIL process improvements.
