- Assist in implementing improvements to current Safety Interface Agreements to ensure compliance with Rail Safety National Law and Rail Safety Law National Regulations.
- Work towards ensuring unsigned interface agreements are executed.
- Maintain (and improve as required) the interface register for UGL RL CRN operations.
- Organise regular meetings between key internal stakeholders (HSE, Network Operations, Assets and Engineering and Infrastructure Maintenance) and interfacing parties (including rollingstock operators, RIMs, private siding managers, road managers (both public and private) and heritage operators) to discuss and resolve key safety and risk issues. In addition, to facilitate regular interface risk reviews.
- Ensure that the outcomes of these regular meetings are documented and provided to the Investigation and Regulatory Liaison Manager.
- Escalate any safety interface coordination issues to the Investigation and Regulatory Liaison Manager and the Planning and Assurance Manager as required.
- Conduct onsite risk assessments with interfacing parties and review and update existing Safety Interface Agreement Risk assessments.
- Conduct Internal SMS Audits and prepare reports including identification of RNSL gaps, findings, outcomes & recommendations as required.
- Continuous improvement of the UGLRL Safety Management System.
- Provide input into the SMS Safety Interface Coordination documents as required.
- Ad hoc Planning and Assurance work and projects as required.
- Liaise with Emergency Control organisations such as local and regional emergency planning committees, including attending meetings and assisting with the planning and implementation of exercises to validate preparedness.
Experience and or qualifications in rail safety
An understanding of Rail Safety National Law and RSNL National Regulations as they apply to Interface agreements
Strong computer skills including the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
Ideally, experience in the rail industry (or another safety critical industry) and a sound understanding of Rail Safety National Law and Rail Safety National Law National Regulations.
