The New England North West Mental Health Service is seeking a passionate and dedicated Mental Health Clinician to join our Older People's Mental Health Community team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older people across our region.The role provides services to communities in the North West, including Narrabri, Moree, Inverell, and surrounding smaller centres. The primary base location is negotiable, with a strong preference for Moree or Inverell. You'll work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team that includes Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Nurses, Psychiatrists, and Peer Workers, delivering collaborative, person-centred care.About the role:
In this role, you will provide high-quality, consumer-focused and evidence-based mental health assessment, formulation, and treatment to improve outcomes for older people and their families/carers. The position also involves offering supervision, consultation, and clinical leadership within the team.Working as part of the Specialist Older Persons Mental Health Service, you will deliver community-based interventions and consultations for older people experiencing, or at risk of developing, mental health problems. The role focuses on implementing the Older People's Mental Health Community Model of Care, providing comprehensive assessment, intervention, case management, and care coordination.You will contribute discipline-specific expertise, recommendations, and observations to support collaborative decision-making and strengthen multidisciplinary partnerships across both health and community sectors. This service also extends to providing consultation and intervention for residents and staff in Residential Aged Care Facilities.The successful applicant will be well supported through regular clinical supervision, guidance from their Line Manager and Professional Leads, and access to ongoing professional development and education. - Recognised and accredited tertiary qualification and registration (or eligibility for) with the relevant board via AHPRA, or eligibility for membership of the relevant association, in one of the following disciplines: social work, psychology, occupational therapy or nursing.
