Fixed Term appointments will be made with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur until 31 December 2026.What is our Clinical Nurse role?This position, under the direction of the relevant Senior Registered Nurse(s), practises as a Clinical Nurse in keeping with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board Registration Standards and Nursing Practice Decision Making Flowchart; provides advanced, comprehensive and evidence-based nursing care to patients as part of a multidisciplinary team; upholds and functions within the core values of the organisation of Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork & Integrity; acts as a role model, providing leadership, support, team building and change management through respect, recognition and collaboration.The Transit Ward is excited to invite applicants to join our dedicated team, providing exceptional care in a purpose-built environment for patients awaiting discharge or transfer. Open 24/7, our facility features 11 bed spaces and 22 chairs, offering a comfortable setting for patients in their final stage of recovery. Our nursing staff delivers comprehensive care, including IV antibiotics, wound management, and essential patient education. With flexible shifts available and conveniently located on the ground level of E Block at SCGH—complete with designated short-term patient pick-up parking—we aim to streamline the discharge process and enhance patient experiences.
