
Behaviour Support Practitioner

- Assisting NDIS participants, along with their families and/or carers, to manage challenging behaviours to improve their quality of life, and develop new skills
- You will complete thorough assessments to understand behaviour triggers, identify risks & consider specific strategies to improve behaviour outcomes
- You will develop Behaviour Support Plans and provide support to families and/or carers, for consistent implementation
- Maintain a caseload with ongoing monitoring, support and make adjustments where required.
- Develop meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework, with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, in the home and community
- Ensuring individual plans reflect our NDIS participants' goals, passions and strengths, as well as ensuring they get more out of life
- Build the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives - family, carers or friends
- Act as an advocate and role model for best practice
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

- Current suitability as a BSP - as confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
- Completed a degree level qualification as an allied health professional - Social Work, OT, Speech, Psychology degree's preferred
- 1 - 2 years employment experience working with challenging behaviors as a Mental Health or Disability Support Worker
- Report writing experience
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
- Proactive attitude, motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas
- Genuine passion for working in the disability sector
