Large assembly and storage areas provide an optimum working environment, where instruments are processed to the highest standard for each procedure.The Instrument Technicians work across a 24/7 rotating roster in the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD), which is reprocessing reusable medical devices for procedures in the theatres. Instrument technicians typically rotate through all phases of the reprocessing cycle.Key responsibilities:Using/monitoring of Steam and Sterrad sterilizersProcessing Endoscopy equipmentLoans – processing equipment from an external vendorCleaning, setting up, and wrapping instrument traysUsing an electronic tracking systemCarry out all testing for equipmentSurgical set ups & transfer of sterile items to appropriate departmentsThis position requires lifting instrument trays up to 7.5kgs.About youAlong with recent proven experience as an Instrument Technician (12 months post certificate) and a commitment to providing a high level of service, you will have the following:MUST have Certificate III in Health – Sterilising Practice for Technicians or equivalentDemonstrated knowledge of sterilization standards.High level of customer service skills.Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.Effective communication, interpersonal and time management skills.Demonstrated knowledge of OH&S in the workplace.Please view the full position description for TSB - Instrument TechnicianEnquiries to: CSSD Manager Sally Minchin at 03 9508 1413Does this sound like your new role?
