About the OrganisationKimberley Aboriginal Medical Services LTD (KAMS) is a well-established regional Aboriginal community controlled health service, founded in 1986, which provides centralised advocacy and resource support for 6 independent member services, as well as providing direct clinical services in a further 6 remote Aboriginal communities across the region.KAMS has successfully delivered high-quality, accessible comprehensive primary health care services over its 22 years of operation and has provided innovation and national leadership in areas such as health information management and evidence based best practice in primary health care.The Kimberley region is located in the northern part of Western Australia and covers about 421,000 square kilometres. The Kimberley has only three towns with a population of more than 2,000 (Broome, Derby and Kununurra), and the total population is around 37,000. In addition to the sealed Route 1 which runs along the southern part of the area, the unsealed Gibb River Road runs through the heart of the region from Derby to the highway near Kununurra. Access to much of the region is by dirt road, air or sea.About the OpportunityKAMS now has an opportunity for a Stores Officer to join their friendly, multidisciplinary team in Broome, WA, on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Asset Manager you will be responsible to develop and maintain effective service relationships with all KAMS Stores stakeholders, including KAMS business units and remote area clinical services, member ACCHS, and current and potential future product suppliers.Some of your key responsibilities will include:
  • Cultivate formal and informal relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain a range of channels for communication with customers, including regular up-dating of the stock-order form emails to inform customers of new products and other changes in KAMS stores, participation in KAMS staff meetings, and from time to time participation in e.g. remote area teleconferences and other forums
  • Maintain an up-to-date stock order form, ensuring all customers are aware of any new changes and have access at all times to a current copy
  • Provide support / prompting for KAMS remote clinical services to ensure regular bulk stock orders are received on time
  • Ensure essential stock levels are maintained in KAMS stores so that requests for emergency supplies can be filled in between the regular bulk orders from remote clinics in particular
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in stores or warehousing, proficient in stock control/ inventory management software and able to demonstrate initiative and have the ability to work unsupervised.   • District allowance $2,920 (Single) or $5,840 (Double) p.a. pro rata;
  • Electricity allowance $1,440 p.a pro rata;
  • Accommodation allowance $7,800 p.a. pro rata;
  • Annual airfares subsidy to the value of $1,285 p.a. pro rata (after 12 months of service);
  • 5 weeks leave p.a. pro rata;
