- Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients speech, language, communication, and swallowing abilities to diagnose disorders and determine appropriate interventions.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Provide direct therapy and intervention to address speech and language disorders, including articulation, fluency, voice disorders, and swallowing difficulties.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on speech and language disorders, treatment strategies, and exercises to support progress and management of conditions.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessment results, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Teams: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, occupational therapists, and psychologists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
- Adhere to Protocols: Follow organisational policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure quality of care and patient safety.
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Speech Pathology or a related field.
- Licensure: Current registration with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Speech Pathologist in a clinical or healthcare setting.
- Vaccinations: Up-to-date with annual flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.
- Work Rights: Must have full work rights in Australia.
- Clinical Expertise: Proficiency in assessing and treating a wide range of speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
