Let’s unlock your potential and build a better future together.The OpportunityMechanical Fitters install, maintain and repair machinery and equipment that is essential to keep operations running. Our four-year Mechanical Fitting apprenticeship gives you specialist skills development and hands-on experience in a busy plant environment whilst completing your Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.Working across our Ammonia & Ammonium Nitrate, Sodium Cyanide or Fertilisers production facilities in Kwinana you will be mentored by experienced tradespeople who are keen to share their knowledge and support your career development.Your day-to-day duties will include:
  • Supporting the installation and assembly of mechanical machinery and equipment.
  • Helping to perform routine maintenance on mechanical systems.
  • Assisting in diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs under supervision.
  • Carrying out all work safely and in accordance with health and safety procedures.
About YouTo succeed in this role, you will have:
  • A demonstrated commitment to studying and training.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Valid driver’s licence or working towards obtaining your driver’s licence.
  • Successfully completed Year 12 and/or currently completing or have completed a pre-apprenticeship (pre-apprenticeships are favourable but not essential).
  • A genuine interest in mechanical work and engineering.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within a supportive team.
  • The commitment to prioritising your safety, and the safety of others in all practices, including understanding safe work practices in a workshop.
  • Confidence to work at heights and in confined spaces (permitted once the appropriate training and approvals are obtained).
