
Privacy Specialist

- Assist Optus in handling personal information inline with our privacy obligations and the expectations of our customers and team
- Carry out Privacy Impact Assessments to enable Optus to mitigate privacy risk arising from initiatives involving personal information
- Deliver practical and pragmatic privacy guidance to support and enable our teams and their initiatives
- Manage privacy incidents and advise on best practice remediation recommendations
- Develop and deliver privacy training and awareness programs
- Support uplift activities in line with developing Privacy Act reform and technology advancements including AI
- Assist with the smooth functioning of the Privacy Office on a day to day basis, supporting other members of the Privacy Team as required.
- Proven expertise in privacy law and regulations, specifically the Privacy Act, and ideally the Telecommunications Act and Telecommunications Interception Act
- Ability to conduct Privacy Impact Assessments and provide commercially relevant recommendations
- Experience in managing privacy incidents and implementing prevention strategies
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise advice on complex privacy matters
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively work with a range of audiences
- Experience in developing privacy education, awareness and training materials, promoting a compliance privacy culture across the organisation
- Strong analytical skills to identify critical compliance issues, write and review policies, and develop mitigating controls.
- 3 days in the office, 2 days remote - with flexible hours to suit!
