This is a parental leave cover.About the role:Perth Children’s Hospital is seeking an experienced Coordinator to lead coordinate the Newborn Hearing Screening (NBHS) Program services across Western Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health and development of newborns across Western Australia by providing clinical leadership, program management, and specialist support to ensure early detection, referral, and care for infants with hearing concerns.Your role will include managing testing locations across our state, ensuring consistency of data collected, leading clinicians in evidence-based best practice, and providing specialist consultation to colleagues across health services and non-government agencies.In addition, you will communicate and liaise with program participants across hospitals, clinics and family services, to maintain service efficiency, ensure equity of access to services, and support management of high-risk cases.You will also have opportunity to participate at a national level by contributing data to research into early hearing loss detection, innovative screening programs, intervention outcomes, and policy improvements that improve outcomes for children and families.Key responsibilities include:
Leading and coordinating the NBHS program across WA, including referrals for infants requiring additional follow-up.
Managing staffing, resources, recruitment, orientation, supervision, and professional development of NBHS program staff.
Monitoring program performance and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
Participating in state and national committees to contribute to program development and quality improvement.
Overseeing state-of-the-art screening and care pathways, including management of high-risk and complex cases.
Coordinating education, training, and professional development at a state-wide level.
Managing data systems, reporting, and analysis for internal and external review.
Ensuring compliance with clinical governance, regulatory, equity, and safety requirements.
