- Lead and mentor a high-performing payroll team.
- Oversee accurate, compliant payroll across multiple countries.
- Ensure payroll tax, superannuation, and Fair Work obligations are watertight.
- Streamline and automate processes to improve efficiency.
- Act as the go-to expert for payroll queries, compliance, and audits.
- Build strong relationships with HR, Finance, Technology, and vendors.
- Identify and deliver continuous improvements to enhance service delivery.
- Significant payroll operations experience, including 1-2+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven success managing payroll across multiple jurisdictions (Australia and NZ essential).
- Strong grasp of legislation, Awards, PAYG, superannuation, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills - confident, clear, and influential.
- A leadership style that develops and motivates people.
- Ability and drive to work at pace and lead change
- A mindset for improvement - someone who thrives on making systems and processes better.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS and payroll systems such as Workday or TMF.
- Previous involvement in payroll projects, system implementations, or major upgrades.
- Experience managing outsourced/co-sourced payroll provider relationships.
