As part of the Swan Christian Education Association (SCEA), ECC is grounded in strong Christian values and committed to equipping students to flourish in life and faith.We are seeking a passionate and relational Health and Physical Education Teacher (Secondary) to join our dynamic teaching team in 2026. This full-time teaching position is an opportunity to shape a flourishing learning community where physical wellbeing, resilience and Christian character development are nurtured through every lesson.This is not just a teaching role — it’s a purposeful opportunity to guide, inspire and walk alongside students as they grow in confidence, character, and care. You’ll teach with energy and excellence, creating inclusive spaces where students thrive physically, emotionally and spiritually.Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging Health and Physical Education lessons aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that encourages participation and achievement.
  • Actively contributing to school sport, including carnivals, co-curricular activities, and interschool/community sporting events.
  • Assessing and reporting on student progress in accordance with College and curriculum guidelines.
  • Collaborating with colleagues, parents, and the broader community to support holistic student growth.
  • Modelling and promoting values of teamwork, discipline, and respect.
  • Supporting the broader wellbeing of students as part of a Christ-centred educational team.
Selection Criteria:Essential:
  • A personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and active involvement in a Christian church.
  • A clear alignment with SCEA’s Statement of Faith and Foundational Beliefs.
  • Registration (or eligibility) with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health and Physical Education.
  • A strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum in HPE.
  • Capacity to integrate ICT effectively into teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional learning and growth.
  • A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or ability to obtain one.
Desirable:
  • Experience in coaching and coordinating school sports teams.
  • Current First Aid qualifications.
