This is a unique opportunity to shape the organisation’s enterprise risk function in a role that directly contributes to governance, culture, and strategic resilience. As Associate Director, Risk Strategy, you’ll be responsible for delivering enterprise-wide risk frameworks, policies, and appetite statements, working closely with the CEO, Board, and senior executives to embed lasting value and measurable outcomes.Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, embed, and oversee enterprise and operational risk frameworks, standards, and policies
  • Lead the design and roll-out of the risk appetite framework and statements
  • Conduct risk maturity assessments and drive capability uplift across the business
  • Provide second line oversight and challenge to ensure alignment of risk activities with strategy
  • Deliver executive and board-level reporting and support ad hoc regulatory/legal requests
Qualifications & ExperienceEssential:
  • Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, IT or related field
  • 8+ years’ risk leadership experience in a mature, highly regulated organisation
  • Proven experience developing and embedding enterprise risk frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of ISO31000, COBIT, and APRA/ASIC-aligned frameworks
  • Executive presence with ability to influence CEO, ExCo, and Boards
Desirable:
  • Background in financial services, insurance, or other complex regulated sectors
  • Experience with GRC tools and risk reporting systems
  • Proven ability to simplify complex theory into practical steps for non-technical leaders
