  • Represent the ACCC / Australia in meetings with international counterparts and facilitate participation in key international forums, including by preparing briefing materials, correspondence and reports.
  • Lead or contribute to the management and delivery of capacity development activities and other projects such as study visits, secondments, and negotiation of cooperation agreements.
  • Conduct research and analyse information about international developments, and communicate this information to key stakeholders in the ACCC.
  • Build and maintain relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to further the ACCC’s international engagement priorities.
About youIn order to succeed in the role, you will have:
  • A sound understanding of the ACCC’s role, purpose and objectives, together with knowledge of the Competition and Consumer Act (or the ability to attain such knowledge quickly).
  • Excellent organisational skills, including a demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise your workload, including managing multiple projects with competing deadlines, adapting to change and demonstrating resilience where needed.
  • Sound research, analytical, judgement, strategic and conceptual skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate issues simply, clearly and effectively, often in different cultural contexts.
  • Demonstrated ability to support productive relationships including through building trust with all levels of staff at the ACCC and external partners to deliver the ACCC’s international engagement objectives.
  • A high degree of cultural sensitivity and respectfulness, and a proficiency for, or willingness to, learn about laws, policies and practices in other jurisdictions.
