- Leading the process for identifying, measuring, recording, and reporting control gaps, while assessing associated risks and ensuring their timely and effective remediation.
- Ensuring assurance activities and controls are clearly defined, developed, and implemented to meet requirements, including alignment with internal policies, endorsed RAC frameworks, and regulatory standards.
- Supporting the mapping, evaluation, and development of control frameworks to strengthen existing practices and meet requirements under the Strategic Transition.
- Documenting agreed processes, maintaining control registers, and ensuring documentation, testing outcomes, and assurance findings remain current and reflective of business practices.
- Conducting independent assurance reviews to evaluate compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards, while facilitating reviews to assess and document controls, objectives, and testing steps.
- Identifying and monitoring changes in the regulatory environment to ensure controls and assurance activities remain appropriate and effective.
- Assisting the Strategic Transition team with other duties as required, contributing to broader organisational objectives.
- Professional certification such as CPA, CISA, or an equivalent qualification is desirable, demonstrating a strong technical foundation in assurance, audit, and risk management practices.
- Proven experience in internal controls, assurance, audit, or risk management, with the ability to apply this expertise to strengthen governance and compliance outcomes.
- Industry knowledge gained from working within insurance, financial services, or a similarly regulated environment, enabling effective navigation of complex obligations.
- Technical proficiency in control testing methodologies and assurance reporting, with the capability to evaluate control effectiveness, evidence compliance, and recommend improvements.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills that allow you to interpret complex information, influence decision-making, and build trusted relationships.
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to assessing risks, documenting processes, and delivering consistent and accurate assurance outcomes
- Resilience and adaptability to perform in a high-paced environment, meeting operational working hours, managing tight deadlines, and accommodating reasonable overtime when required.
