Based in Townsville, you will be responsible to ensure smooth operation and contract performance objects are achieved by managing the performance of the delivery maintenance, repair and project services to Defence equipment including vehicles, plant, equipment and armoury, across the Northern QLD region.Rostered hours of 7am - 4:30pm Monday to Thursday, and 7am - 12pm on Fridays.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Financial control including working to strict monthly budgets, forecasting, recommending maintenance improvements in productivity and/or cost and collecting and sharing cost information
- Build and maintain strong collaborative and trusted working relationship with the client to effectively meet their needs and ensure contract requirements are fulfilled according to agreed expectations
- Provide regular detailed reporting to the client
- Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives in the areas of safety, quality and productivity
- Training and development of your team
- Supporting and implementing change initiatives
- Achieving best practice, safety and quality standards
- Removing the barrier to support the team to achieve
- Providing data and analytics to inform stakeholders and highlight risks
- Looking at opportunities of innovation and improvement
- Proven management / leadership capability in a workshop environment
- Trade qualification or maintenance experience is advantageous
- Ability to interact and drive performance with technical staff and subcontractors
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Communication skills including presenting, negotiating and writing reports
- Intermediate level MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Valid Driver's licence
- You must be an Australian Citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance
