Our client is a leading independent Australian law firm with a strong reputation in property and projects. With a national presence and a culture built on collaboration, innovation, and inclusion, they advise government agencies, major corporations, and large community housing providers on significant property development and infrastructure projects.On behalf of our client, we are seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join their Property & Projects team. Based in Newcastle (or Sydney, with one day per week in Newcastle), this is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside Partner Katrina Reye and contribute to complex and high-value property matters across multiple sectors.Benefits

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Advising on a broad range of property law matters including acquisitions, disposals, leases, licences, easements, restrictive covenants, Crown Land, and regulatory issues.
  • Acting for government, private sector clients, and community housing providers on major tenders, property development, and social/affordable housing projects.
  • Managing complex transactions such as multi-million-dollar purchases, land due diligence, commercial and retail leasing, and divestment of government land.
  • Collaborating with the Partner and senior team members on large-scale social infrastructure and property development projects.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships across the Newcastle, Hunter Valley, and broader NSW regions.
  • For senior candidates, mentoring and supervising junior team members.
To Be Successful, You Will Have:
  • 3-7 years' post-admission experience as a property lawyer, ideally with exposure to large-scale projects or infrastructure.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and drafting skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a large national team.
  • Proven client management skills and a focus on delivering commercial, solutions-oriented advice.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • For senior candidates, prior experience mentoring and supervising junior lawyers.
