Our client is a major Queensland Government agency undertaking a digital transformation initiative focused on HCM solutions and cloud integration. They are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the architectural design of this complex, large-scale and long-term program. The Solution Architect will play a pivotal role in the program, which aims to replace the department’s legacy core HR and payroll systems with a modern SaaS solution.
This role involves designing and delivering end-to-end architecture solutions, leveraging the department’s interoperability platform built on Azure Stack.The successful candidate will require extensive experience with Azure, strong leadership capabilities, and proven expertise in governance, security, and configuration using Azure tools.
The Solution Architect will actively participate in the department’s Architecture Review Board and governance forums, lead design practices, and ensure compliance with security and architectural standards.Key responsibilities:
- Performing reviews/ recommendations and leading the solution architecture across enhancements to Human Capital Management solutions and related integration processes.
- Performing reviews/ recommendations for the reduction of technical debt/ transitions across private and public cloud platforms, systems and modules.
- Performing reviews/ assessments for transition to cloud-based solutions for some solutions.
- Performing recommendations for future technology directions.
- Develop end-to-end solution architectures using Microsoft Azure services and SAP HCM.
- Design scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions that meet business requirements.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and best practices.
- Design and implement integration solutions between Azure and SAP HCM, ensuring seamless data flow.
- Develop strategies for data migration, transformation, and synchronisation.
- Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Conduct regular reviews of architecture and design to identify potential risks or improvements.
- Leverage Azure services such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure DevOps, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Integration Services.
- Design and implement cloud-native applications and hybrid cloud solutions.
- Optimise Azure resources for performance, cost, and security.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code).
- Proficiency in integration tools such as Azure Logic Apps, Azure Fabric, or middleware platforms.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
- Provide architectural guidance for SAP HCM modules Core HR/Payroll, Recruitment and onboarding, LMS, workforce analytics, including Personnel Administration, Organisational Management, Payroll, and Time Management.
- Lead the integration of SAP HCM with other enterprise systems using Azure Integration Services or SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI).
- Ensure compliance with SAP best practices and industry standards.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP HCM modules and their integration points.
- extensive experience with Azure, strong leadership capabilities, and proven expertise in governance, security, and configuration using Azure tools. Demonstrable and solid experience with solution (both Logical and Physical) architecture and practical implementation of stable, viable solutions suitable for the performance specified
- Demonstrated (minimum recent five years) Solution Architecture experience of ERP and related Human Capital Management on-premises/ cloud/ hybrid solutions, with complex levels of integration qualification and years of experience/specialism
- Expertise in the production of roadmaps and patterns for new and existing solutions, with a focus on integrations, aligned with strategic plans to support efficient reuse of solutions
- Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver multiple concurrent key initiatives
- Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise-grade solutions.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture patterns, microservices, and APIs.
- Solid experience with TOGAF, ITIL and Development Frameworks and associated Release and Change control methods including operational transformation.
- Ensures adherence to the appropriate standards of enterprise and solution architectures (corporate, industry, national and international.)
- Establishes assessment criteria for the appropriate selection of systems architecture components, and co-ordinates design activities, promoting the discipline to ensure consistency.
- Leads the development of architectures for complex systems, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external and internal customers including Business teams and Development/ Technical teams.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering Business Information Systems and architectural components such as Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) over the Software Development Life Cycle, including their architecture, design, development and delivery.
