In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.About the Role:An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join the team at Northern Health.This role requires a therapist with experience in Neuro/ Stroke acute care who is passionate about providing person- centred care.The Occupational Therapy service at Northern Health prides itself on being inclusive, supportive and committed to evidence-based practice.We are a team driven by positive patient outcomes and team work.The NH OT service employs over 100 staff and are consistently striving to provide opportunities to support staff growth and development.The Grade 3 Occupational Therapist is required to provide quality patient centred care on the Stroke/ Neuro ward.This is achieved through the application of competent clinical skills in assessment, intervention/rehabilitation, and discharge planning.To be successful in this role you will have:
  • The ability to assess, plan and implement stroke/ neuro interventions at a grade 3 level of competence.
  • Recognised tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Fully registered as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Eligible for membership with OT Australia
  • Current Australian Driver's License
  • Current National Police Check and Working with Children Check VIC
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrated leadership
  • A good working knowledge of community services
  • Commitment to lifelong learning
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
