We are looking for a Senior Engineering Specialist to join our team and play a vital role in supporting the operation and maintenance of essential communication assets within the aviation industry.About the RoleAs a Senior Engineering Specialist, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability and safety of our communication systems, with a primary focus on VHF communications, and supporting UHF and HF domains as required. Working within our Communications Technology Services team, you will lead technical projects, provide system engineering expertise, and contribute to enhancing safety and service delivery across the aviation sector.Key Responsibilities- Lead technical guidance and act as a trusted advisor on communication systems safety and security
- Develop and monitor technical plans, managing change processes and configuration control
- Perform systems engineering tasks aligned with safety and regulatory frameworks
- Support project delivery, ensuring system integrity and compliance
- Maintain current knowledge of communication, navigation, surveillance, and air traffic management systems
- Collaborate across teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless operations
- Participate in cross-training initiatives to develop specialized skills
- Uphold safety standards and actively identify and mitigate system safety risksWhat We’re Looking For- Tertiary qualification in Engineering; eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (e.g., RPEQ)
- Proven experience in systems engineering of complex, safety-critical systems
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or within a team
- Desirable: Experience with aviation Safety Management Systems and Civil Aviation Safety Regulations
