We are recruiting a temporary (18 months) Full-Time Senior Technology Specialist (HSM3).The successful candidate will be primarily working out of Royal North Shore Hospital or John Hunter Hospital however we offer flexible working arrangements which includes up to two days per week working from home.The successful candidate will provide technical support for our (a) clinical integration services and (b) laboratory information system (LIS) billing services. Clinical integration refers primarily to the electronic processing of pathology orders and results. LIS billing services refers to the electronic processing of information required to bill successfully for completed billable testing.We operate more than 60 laboratories and around 200 collection centres across NSW and conduct over 60 million tests per annum. Our network of pathologists are supported by scientists, technicians and support staff who quickly and accurately assess samples so clinical teams can make the best possible treatment decisions for patients. - Coordinate the support and development of HL7 integration and messaging services as directed.
- Design and development of integration solutions
- Management of integration projects
- Oversee maintenance, support and performance of production interfaces
- Management, supervision, support, mentoring and development of junior staff
- Maintenance of high-quality documentation and reference materials
- IT or other relevant qualifications and/or demonstrable experience suitable for the role.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of HL7 integration solutions.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency with javascript, VBscript, SQL and other programming languages and technologies including database design and development. Experience with TFS, GITHub or other code management solutions.
- Solid understanding of laboratory and /or public hospital workflows and processes, including those associated with PAS/ADT systems, electronic orders and results.
- Highly developed and effective management skills including delegation, with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Demonstrated experience in ICT project management in a Health setting.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving ability and skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work both in a team and individually with effective interpersonal skills, sound verbal and written communication including the ability to produce reports when required and ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders (including IT and Health professionals) providing high quality customer focused services.
