The UGL/TasWater alliance are currently recruiting for a Civil Supervisor to ensure that construction activities on site are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project’s design, quality, and regulatory requirements.This is a full time, fixed term contract role based in Hobart.Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day to day civil construction activities on water and wastewater projects, ensuring all works comply with UGL/TasWater standards, drawings, and relevant codes.
  • Implement and monitor safe work practices in line with WHS regulations and project safety plans, ensuring contractors and crews maintain a safe working environment.
  • Inspect and verify civil works (pipelines, structures, earthworks, etc) to ensure quality, workmanship and materials meet project specifications and requirements.
  • Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, engineers, and representatives to coordinate works, resolve issues, and maintain clear communication.
  • Monitor construction progress against schedules, identify risks or delays, and provide accurate reporting and documentation to the project team.
About You
  • Previous experience supervising civil construction works (preferably in water or utilities)
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, standards, and safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work programs.
  • Good communication and leadership skills to manage crews and subcontractors.
  • Current drivers licence and relevant safety tickets (e.g. White Card).
