- Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, team members in compliance with regulatory policies and procedures
- Help guests needs to ensure their satisfaction
- Maintain and order parts and supplies whilst minimising waste and maintaining “green” initiatives
- May be responsible for hotel security to minimise risk of theft, crime and other hazards
- General maintenance and upkeep of the hotel premises.
- Minor repairs of non-gas or non-electrical kitchen equipment
- Understanding of air conditioning principles
- Minor plumbing e.g. tap washers, toilet flushers and seals
- Minor carpentry work e.g. installation of skirting boards and adjusted
- Minor Painting work including minor repairs to wallpaper
- Changing light globes, maintain the in-house TV and movie system, room automation system.
- Minor bathroom repairs e.g. grouting and minor repairs to tiles, replacement of silicone, minor water damage in hotel areas
- Full working rights in Australia without restrictions (a kind reminder that sponsorship is not available for this role)
- Must have some experience in general building maintenance and/ or construction or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Hotel maintenance / engineering experience is preferred.
- Have a good understanding of both product and equipment used throughout the working day. Use all equipment in a safe and practical manner, ensuring the safety of colleagues and guests.
- Ongoing availability to work flexibly as rostered, including nights, weekends and public holidays
- Passion for providing luxury experiences, not shy to go above and beyond to personalise our Guests stay and provide your local wisdom to enhance their experience
- Some college or advanced vocational trade training preferred.
- Professional certification and licences if required by law
- Impeccable grooming standards and good personal hygiene.
- Good customer service skills and confident verbal communication - you may need to visit guest rooms!
- An organised approach, ability to handle large amounts of information at once and deal with various requests simultaneously
- Physical fitness as you'll be on your feet most of the day. Sometimes you'll need to lift, push and pull objects, such as tables, up to 23 kg - we have the equipment to support you and keep you safe.
