Overview:Part-time (0.5 FTE)​, fixed-term position​ until December 2026Salary Level HEW 6 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working ArrangementsBased at the ​Melbourne CBD​ campusAbout the roleThe Operations Officer, Enabling Impact Platforms (EIP) for the plays a key role in providing high-level administrative and operational support to the EIP Director, serving as the primary liaison between the Director and the broader Research & Innovation Capability (R&IC) support team. This role is instrumental in coordinating EIP activities and contributing to the integration of innovation within the research ecosystem.Key responsibilities include tracking Platform project progress, coordinating logistics for conferences and events, developing and refining business processes, and supporting the execution of networking, communication, event, and planning initiatives.The Officer will engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external, including representatives from government, industry, and the academic community.To be successful in this position, you will have:Proven expertise in delivering high-level administrative and secretarial support across office and committee settings.Strong planning, organisation, and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to challenges.A high degree of discretion, adaptability, enthusiasm, and self-motivation. Able to work effectively both independently and in a team.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to produce clear, professional documents such as reports, newsletters, briefs, and other communications for diverse audiences, including executives, staff, academics, government, and industry stakeholders.Experience in coordinating public outreach, events, and promotional activities, including developing communication strategies.Advanced computer literacy, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with desktop/web publishing, project management tools, and online research.A commitment to professional conduct and alignment with RMIT’s values and capability framework.Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.About the ​Research & Innovation PortfolioRMIT’s Research and Innovation Portfolio supports researchers to help shape the world.
